Hailing from Wilmington with deep roots spanning 21 years in the vibrant 7th District, I bring a wealth of diverse experiences and a relentless passion for community betterment.

My journey unfolds with pivotal roles in esteemed governmental offices, serving as the Deputy City Clerk for the Wilmington City Council Office and subsequently as the Office Manager within the Mayor's Office. These roles honed my organizational prowess and sharpened my ability to navigate complex administrative landscapes with finesse.

Transitioning seamlessly into the dynamic realm of banking, I excelled as an Assistant Branch Manager, leveraging my innate leadership skills to drive team success and foster lasting client relationships.

My professional repertoire extends into the realm of sales, where I thrived in the competitive arena of car sales, demonstrating a knack for negotiation and a keen understanding of customer needs.

Under the visionary leadership of former Mayor James M. Baker, I undertook the prestigious task of spearheading the creation of the esteemed Wilmington Awards and the City's Years of Service Awards, leaving an indelible mark on the city's culture of recognition and appreciation.

My academic journey culminated in the attainment of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Wilmington University, equipping me with a robust foundation to navigate the complexities of the business world.

My christian walk with the Lord has been a journey of faith, growth, and service. As a missionary for my church, I have had the privilege of sharing the gospel, and experiencing the power of God's love firsthand. Through challenges, I have learned to rely on the Lord's guidance, finding joy and fulfillment in serving others.

Beyond my professional pursuits and my faith, I find profound fulfillment in my roles as a devoted mother to three accomplished adult children—Tyler, Captain Tywan, and Tyonna Brooks—and a cherished daughter-in-law, Sunita Roberts-Brooks, whose dedication to law mirrors my own commitment to excellence.

As a proud grandmother of three remarkable grandchildren—Alora, Myles, and Farah Brooks—I am fueled by a boundless optimism for the future and a steadfast determination to create a legacy of resilience and empowerment.

At the heart of it all, I am anchored by the unwavering support of my beloved mother, Reverend Emma Corbin, whose wisdom and guidance continue to inspire me on my journey of service and impact.
